Fairtrade items are reasonably priced

Fairtrade products may be a little more expensive, but the prices charged are correct for the people growing and making them.

That's the view of Shakti Man's Leni Lewis, who feels consumers become used to paying unrealistic sums, which don't reflect the true cost of things environmentally, socially or production-wise.

Fairtrade Island spokesman Peter Whittaker doesn't believe supermarkets are taking advantage, and upping what they charge for such items (audio file attached):
