Non-lethal weapons used in arrest

It's been revealed a taser and baton rounds (formerly known as rubber bullets) were used by Manx officers for the first time during the arrest of a man in Douglas yesterday.

The Police - including the Firearms Team - were called to an incident on Victoria Road at around one o' clock yesterday morning

Deputy Chief Constable Gary Roberts says they were told the man was threatening someone with a knife:

The man arrested remains in custody but no further details have been released as yet.
