'Whole child' conference next week

by isleofman.com 3rd July 2008
How to make the most of every aspect of a child's education, on the way to forming secure, happy and healthy young people.

That's the ambitious aim of a conference for school and college leaders, and those in the Manx government who work with children.

It's well known that children who are happy and secure are more likely to do well at school, and the conference will show how every subject in a curriculum can be used to promote the benefits of healthy living.

Keynote speaker Mick Waters from the Qualification and Curriculum Authority says the Island's educators are already leading the way in teaching the 'whole child' (audio file attached):

The conference will be held next week.
