IOM Ladies' Golf Champs under way

The qualifying round of the Isle of Man Ladies' Golf Championships took place at Rowany Golf Club yesterday.

Best gross of the day was 12-year-old Emma Harris of Peel with a 78 and a 74.

Best net of the day was Alice Leadbeater from Rowany with two rounds of 66.

The draw for the Matchplay stages, to take place at Rowany on Tuesday, is as follows:

Match 1 - 5.00 pm Emma Harris (P) v Muriel Cain (Douglas)
Match 2 - 5.10 pm Anne Gelling (PSM) v Ruth Pigott (MM)
Match 3 - 5.20 pm Jane Gaines (Ramsey) v Mary Crampton (KEB)
Match 4 - 5.30 pm Sue Kinrade (Ramsey) v Linda Keegan (P)
Match 5 - 5.40 pm Alice Leadbeater (Rowany) v Jasmine Heginbotham (Rowany)
Match 6 - 5.50 pm Norma Loundes (PSM) v Irene Waterhouse (Lady Captain of Rowany)
Match 7 - 6.00 pm Shirley Glover (PSM) v Joy Morris (Ramsey)
Match 8 - 6.10 pm Helen Corlett (P) v Cath Preston (PSM - defending champion)


The quarter finals are on Thursday with the semis scheduled for the following evening.

The 36 hole final is due to take place on Sunday, getting under way at 1pm.
