An ?8000 compensation payment looks likely for Island veterans of nuclear testing.
Up to 12 former service personnel living here are thought to have been exposed to the radioactive tests in the 1950s and 60s.
In January Tynwald agreed on a resolution from Eddie Lowey MLC to compensate them - and later this month members will be asked to approve total spending of up to ?96,000 to do that.
The tax-free payouts will recognise the contribution those veterans made - and the mental anxiety many have suffered ever since.
