Two Southern 100 races red-flagged

by isleofman.com 12th July 2008
Two sidecar competitors were taken to Noble's Hospital with injuries described as 'not life threatening', after three outfits were involved in an incident on the approach to Cross Four Ways in this afternoon's Southern 100 Championship event.

The race was red-flagged and subsequently abandoned due to the lack of time.

Earlier, the Solo Championship was red-flagged after four laps, because of an incident which resulted in a rider being airlifted to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be serious.

The positions after four laps stood which enabled Ian Lougher to become become the most successful rider ever around the Billown Circuit.

His victory in the shortened Solo Championship meant he passed the late Joey Dunlop's total.

Over the three days, five races were cancelled and two were red-flagged.
