No decisions yet on pension changes

by isleofman.com 12th July 2008
Chief Minister Tony Brown says no decisions have been made regarding changes to public sector pensions in the Isle of Man.

He was speaking after Union Official Angela Moffatt expressed concern over proposed moves.

Mr Brown (pictured) can understand people's concerns, but says goverment is responding to a report by a select committee of Tynwald, with a review of pensions which went before the court in May this year.

He says at the moment there are 19 pension schemes for public sector employees which are basically imported from the United Kingdom, and there are known problems and areas which can be improved.
