Gerrard breaks 5km record again

by isleofman.com 14th July 2008
Athlete Keith Gerrard improved his Manx record for 5000 metres on Saturday at the Aviva National AAA Track and Field Championships.

The event, which included the Great Britain Olympic trial, was held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham over the weekend.

His time of 14.26.45 clipped over four seconds of his previous 5km record set in May at the BUSA Athletic Championship.

Despite not running as quickly as he had planned the Manx Aid Sports recipient was pleased with his run and position of 19th from a top class field of 27 competitors.
