MHK to raise fluoridation issue

by isleofman.com 15th July 2008
The fluoridation row will rumble on in Tynwald today, when Rushn MHK Quintin Gill calls on the DHSS to end its membership of the British Fluoridation Society.

Mr Gill, a vocal critic of the plans to fluoridate the Island's public water supply, says membership may not have cost much, but an important principle is at stake (audio file attached):

A month ago the DHSS confirmed that, following public consultation, it did not intend to continue with a policy of fluoridation.

Market researchers carried out a survey of 1,000 Island residents, 54 per cent of whom were opposed to the move.
