Large scale advertising of local produce

An eyecatching initiative to persuade people to 'buy local' will be launched in the Island's countryside this weekend.

A group of young farmers will paint a giant message on a hillside in Baldwin.

The precise wording hasn't been decided, but will be along the lines of 'Thanx for buying Manx'.

Secretary of the Federation of Young Farmers Angela Teare (pictured) says the idea came from the 'I love Manx' campaign:
