Man questioned after Allan Street incident

A man has been questioned by police following an incident which saw Allen Street, Douglas cordoned off, at both ends, for well over six hours today.

Officers with firearms and police negotiators were sent to the area, and residents of the whole street were advised to stay indoors until matters had been resolved.

Acting Inspector Steve Maddocks says the 'stand off' came to a 'peaceful conclusion' at about 7.30pm (audio file attached):
