Scatchard bail refused

by isleofman.com 16th July 2008
A 25 year-old man charged with two offences of wounding with intent to murder has been further remanded in custody.

Christopher William Scatchard of no fixed abode appeared before the High Bailiff.

Inspector Andrew Turner, prosecuting, said committal papers had been served on the defence.

A bail application by the defendant's advocate was refused and Mr Scatchard will appear again on July 29.

Meanwhile, a woman charged with assisting Mr Scatchard has been granted bail by Mr Moyle.

Twenty-nine year-old Michelle McBirnie of Hazel Cresent, Pulrose had been in custody following a breach of bail.

She must reside at David Gray House, keep an 8pm to 6am curfew and not enter Pulrose.

Ms McBirnie will appear in court again on July 29 and she was warned that if she breached her bail again she would go back to custody.
