New road to open this weekend

The new road being built at Governor’s Bridge will be opened this weekend.

The multi-million pound scheme still isn’t complete, after the Department of Transport said it would do more work on the new roundabout on the Onchan to Douglas route.

But workers are now finishing a new section of road around the Nook.

DoT schemes manager Jim Davidson says it’s important the road is opened on time:
