Jurby commissioners have been meeting to decide their response to last week’s news the government planned to store toxic fly ash at Jurby airfield.
The proposed site for the ash was just two hundred metres from a Primary School – and in Tynwald DLGE Minister John Shimmin (pictured) sparked outrage after he admitted he hadn’t consulted on the plans.
Jurby’s board held an extraordinary meeting on Saturday to discuss the revelations.
The commissioners have called for a meeting with Michael MHK David Cannan, the Department of Transport and DLGE to discuss the plans.
