Manx explore Chinese tourism

"Yes, we will look into the oportunity".

The reaction of the Department of Tourism and Leisure after a suggestion from the Manx Honorary Representative in China that visits to the Island by Chinese people could be a winning recipe.

Richard Hewitt says what is required is someone to organise tours. Without them, he says, the Chinese, in particular students, are unlikely to come.

David Fallows, Senior Business Development Manager at the Tourism Department says that, with the right information, the Government would be prepared to consider moves in that direction:
