Looking forward to a new school

A new dawn is breaking for education in Ramsey.

After 103 years, Albert Road School has closed its doors for the last time, and pupils and staff are preparing to move to the new Scoill Ree Gorree on Lezayre Road.

The old building has been welcoming the town's children since 1905 and yesterday pupils and teachers past and present, as well as Ramsey MHKs Allan Bell and Anne Craine, were among those who said an emotional farewell at the official closing ceremony.
