A St John’s resident is thanking her lucky stars after her house was struck by a bolt from the blue.
Betty Weedon was in her bungalow on the Balladoyne estate when it was hit by a football-sized block of ice.
It’s thought the ice fell from a passing aircraft, and fortunately it only damaged the roof before coming to rest in her loft.
Betty's home suffered only minor damage, but she says it was quite a shock (audio file attached):
The ice crashed through Mrs Weedon's roof on Wednesday of last week.
