There's been a big rise in DAB radio ownership in the Isle of Man.
In the six months since last December, when the BBC's first Digital Audio Broadcasting transmitter was switched on, there has been a near four-fold increase to well over 2500.
The Council of Ministers is currently 'moving forward' the introduction of digital radio technology for the Island's stations, recognising that Manx Radio is unable to meet the financial commitment.
The DAB ownership figures are contained in the latest statistics from RAJAR, Radio Joint Audience Research, to which Manx Radio subcribes.
They show around 700 owners on the Island at the end of last year, and a current figure of 2,700.
Listener figures for DAB are also up, by over 500 to 2,100 in the same period, which suggests multiple ownership of digital radios in some homes.
Based on the latest census in 2006, it appears about 8% of the Island's 33,000 households now have a digital radio.
