Another email scam has hit the Isle of Man.
The Office of Fair Trading says a message claiming to be from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs is an attempt by fraudsters to steal financial and identity details.
The fraudulent email asks recipients to submit their credit/debit card and other personal information online, within 48 hours, to claim an alleged refund.
The OFT says, as with all such scams, the simple advice is to delete the email.
On no account should anybody provide personal or financial details unless they are completely satisfied a request is legitimate.
Anybody who has responded to such a message should get in touch with their bank and if money has been lost the police should be contacted immediately.
HM Revenue and Customs has set up a page offering advice on its website at hmrc.gov.uk, and is asking anybody who has received such an email to get in touch.
