by isleofman.com 28th July 2008
The president of the National Farmers Union is celebrating after his Aberdeen Angus bull was crowned supreme champion at the Southern District Agricultural Show.

Howard Quayle’s bull was a popular winner at Great Meadow in a competition judged by president of Tynwald Noel Cringle.

The accolade of reserve champion went to a Belgian blue bull owned by Graham Watterson.

The Kermode family from Orrisdale took second reserve with a Texal ewe lamb, while the horse named as third reserve belonged to Member of the Legislative Council Clare Christian.

The show continues today (Sunday).

Among the attractions will be a young farmers' cookery competition, line dancing, demonstrations of various crafts by members of the WI, showjumping, children's sports and displays by stunts rider Steve Colley.
