The Agriculture Minister has pledged the Isle of Man will be a cleaner, greener place to live in by 2020.
Phil Gawne has been speaking at the Celtic Congress in Aberystwyth.
He told delegates the Island had been bitten by the sustainable development bug, and he believes that over the next 12 years we'll be, among other things, a net exporter of clean energy, waste neutral and a 'green' finance centre.
Mr Gawne said such goals were not only achievable but essential if the Isle of Man is to survive in a world in which oil-based civilisation is becoming starved of its key resource - oil.
