Man rescued from yacht

A a man was rescued from a stricken yacht which ran aground at Port Jack yesterday afternoon.

Douglas Coastguard and Lifeboat teams were scrambled at 14.20.

The man, who was unhurt, was taken up the cliff face to safety by a Coastguard Rescue Officer as the lifeboat stood by.

His vessel was taken off the rocks and refloated just after midnight before being towed to Douglas Harbour.
