Grenade made safe

by isleofman.com 6th August 2008
Police have released a picture of the hand grenade, made safe in a controlled explosion this morning.
An army explosives expert came to the Island and dealt with the device in a field near Johnny Watterson's Lane, on the outskirts of Douglas.

It's understood the grenade was found in the possession of a small boy at a property in Willaston yesterday, but it's being stressed there was no danger to the public at any time.

It was originally reported the explosion took place yesterday.
