Air passengers rise

by isleofman.com 6th August 2008
Passenger figures through Ronaldsway have held up despite higher fuel prices hitting air travel demand, and the closure of Euromanx. There had been the prediction of a decrease by the Airport.

And there are efforts to try and win back business friendly flights to London City airport.

Airport Director Ann Reynolds (pictured) says concerted efforts are being made to restore the important morning and evening return flights to the UK capital. She says an Isle of Man day return facility to the City Airport is badly missed. The major problem is apparently the limited availability of key landing slots there.

67,000 passengers went through the Airport during the month, a small increase of 0.6% over July 2007. In the year to date, numbers have increased by 3.6% when compared with the first seven months of 2007.
