Possible claim against race organisers

by isleofman.com 7th August 2008
A Derbyshire man looking to sue the organisers of the Steam Packet races after being injured at last year's event says he'd hate to jeopardise its future.

But Andy Green does want compensation for lost earnings and would like to see spectators' safety increased.

Mr Green says he was filming a race at Cross Four Ways on the Billown circuit when he was bllindsided by one of the bikes, leaving him with a broken lower leg and a smashed ankle.

He feels there was no indication it could be a dangerous place to stand: (audio clip)

The Department of Tourism and Leisure, who oversee the race meet, say they haven't heard from Mr Green yet and are undable to comment at present.
