Another heating oil theft

by isleofman.com 7th August 2008
There has been another heating oil theft, this time in the South.

It happened over the last six weeks from a property in Close Malew, Castletown.

Police say it's likely a large vehicle was used, possibly a van or flat back wagon, and under the cover of darkness. They say if anyone has seen - or does see - a vehicle of this kind moving around late at night please contact them.

The danger of the theft of oil from private properties has grown with the rising price of fuel. Home owners are being urged to secure their oil tanks.

Anyone who has any information regarding this matter is urged to contact Police Constable Lee Wright at Castletown Police Station on 822222, or call the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
