Cruise liner's skipper hails Peel

by isleofman.com 8th August 2008
A cruise liner gave Peel a toot on her whistle last night as she slipped by. And for a very good reason.

The Azmara Journey (pictured) was on passage from Belfast to Dublin with her skipper, Peel man Karl Smith at the helm.

Karl’s wife and son along with other family members and friends were on Peel Breakwater to see her. The long blasts of the ships horn brought out many inquisitive locals!

The Azmara Journey is operated by Azamara Cruises, she's 30,000 tonnes, nearly 600 ft long and carries close to 700 passengers.
