RPI up again

The Retail Prices Index has gone from 6.3 % to 6.5% in July.

The main contributions have been food and energy prices. In the last year the cost of fuel and light has risen by 22.8%.

The Treasury says 'the index for oil and other fuels within the fuel and light category showed a rise of nearly 72% over the past 12 months'. The price of food increased by almost 9%.
