MT trying to avert strike action

Manx Telecom’s managing director says the company is doing all it can to avoid the threat of a strike.

Yesterday, the Communication Worker’s Union announced members working for the firm had voted to take industrial action over a pay offer which is below the rate of inflation.

Staff will meet tonight to decide what to do next, raising the fear of a walkout by CWU members.

The company’s MD Chris Hall (pictured) says it’s too early to say what effect this could have on the Island’s phone services:
