Dutch Elm disease takes hold

The Island’s entire elm population is under threat.

Dutch Elm disease is spreading its way through the Island’s central valley.

There are concerns the Island could lose virtually all its near 300,000 elms.

Jimmy Lee of the Forestry Division says it’s a major problem:
