McAvennie in court next month

Former Scottish international footballer Frank McAvennie is due to appear in the Manx courts next month.

It follows an incident in July in which he and a 23 year-old local man, Ian Moffitt, were arrested and charged with affray.

McAvennie was also charged with disorderly conduct on licensed premises.

He was in the Island for an exhibition football match but was unable to play following his arrest.

The matter will be heard on September the ninth after McAvennie, of Newcastle, was bailed in his absence in the sum of ?2,000.
