Bank backs 'Bellis to Boston'

The Isle of Man Bank is backing 'Bellis to Boston'.

A number of events are taking place this weekend to try and raise sufficient funds to send Michael Bellis (pictured) to America for a brain tumour operation.

The 29 year-old Douglas man can’t have an operation in Britain due to the position and type of his tumour but a neurology centre in Boston has confirmed it can operate, providing he can raise a further ?25,000.

Now staff at the Bank have stepped in to help by organising a number of events.

Last weekend, they held a car boot sale which raised ?3,000.

Now Managing Director of Isle of Man Bank Geoff Gelling says he's given 'carte blanche' to his staff to do what they want to raise more money and the enthusiasm has now spread (audio file attached):
