Lifeboat call after engine fire

by isleofman.com 26th August 2008
Douglas Lifeboat was launched and Douglas Coastguard immediate response team was scrambled on Friday night after an engine fire in a small fishing vessel, one and a half miles east of Douglas.

The distress call was received at around 9.40pm.

The vessel had a crew of four on board and were able to extinguish the fire in the outboard engine themselves.

A Coastguard patrol vehicle kept observation, whilst the lifeboat towed the vessel into Douglas at 10.30pm.

All of the crew were safe and well.
