Parsons on target

by isleofman.com 26th August 2008
Bright but blustery conditions greeted the eleven shooters who turned out for the fifth round of Ayre Clay Target Club’s Summer Down the Line League on Sunday, kindly sponsored by Splinters of Ramsey.

Marty Kneen led the scoring in the first squad with a 24 ex 25, Anne Callister matching this in the second squad, along with Simon Slaytor in the third.

Neil Parsons, however, hit all 25, using the second barrel once to score 74/75 with Kevin Oates one point behind on 73/75.

Marty went one better in the second round, hitting all 25, using the second barrel twice, but Neil held his nerve, hitting all 25 again using the second barrel once.

Kevin Airey and Stephen Sayle hit a pair of 23s apiece, to take first and third places in C Class respectively.

New shooter Mick Jackson scored well in the second round, settling in to score 21/61.

Results: A/B Class: 1, Neil Parsons 50/148; 2, Marty Kneen 49/145; 3, Kevin Oates 49/140. C Class: 1, Kevin Airey 46/138; 2, Anne Callister 46/136; 3, Stephen Sayle 46/135.

This Sunday at Blue Point: 50 bird fun shoot in the morning followed by Olympic Trap Selection shoot in the afternoon.
