Just days after the Olympic flame was extinguished in Beijing, a team of fire officers from the Isle of Man are in Liverpool for the 10th World Firefighter's games.
The competition got underway on Sunday and runs for 10 days.
The eight fire and rescue staff from the Island are led by Chief Fire Officer Brian Draper (pictured).
He says there are 67 activities ranging from a fire house cook off and a "toughest fireman alive" competition, to more established sports including swimming, track and field and Mountain biking in which he will compete himself.
And he's optimistic that the Manx team could return with a medal.
