Manx Telecom settles pay dispute

by isleofman.com 29th August 2008
Manx Telecom has resolved the strike threat over its staff pay deal.

In a statement today, it said workers who are part of the Communication Workers Union have voted to accept a revised pay and conditions offer.

The result of that ballot means that planned industrial action over a below-inflation pay rise has been called off.

Managing Director of Manx Telecom Chris Hall (pictured) welcomed the settlement – but didn’t reveal details of the new offer.

The CWU said it looks forward to positive industrial relations with the company.

Both the company and the union refused to comment and have declined to be interviewed.
