Climate change could affect planning

Climate change should be taken into account more when planning new housing developments, according to a Ramsey Commissioner.

Nigel Malpass (pictured) told fellow commissioners that historical data is becoming less important than projected environmental conditions - especially with regard to the potential for flooding in the future.

He says that home insurance companies could be one of the market forces that dictate suitable sites for building:
