We'll help poor tackle energy costs

Treasury Minister Allan Bell has promised more help for the poor this winter in the face of rising energy costs.

Electricity goes up by just over 16 per cent on Monday, compounding the misery of last month's 22 per cent gas price hike.

Mr Bell says the Government's Lower Incomes Working Group has been looking at the situation over the summer (audio file attached):
