Isle of Man film in major festival

by isleofman.com 2nd September 2008
A film shot on location at the Gaiety Theatre is to be premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, which gets underway today.

'Me and Orson Welles' was filmed in February and more than 600 local people appeared as extras in scenes shot at the Victorian building.

In the film, the Gaiety doubles as the infamous New York Mercury Theatre where Orson Welles staged a legendary performance of Julius Caesar in 1937.

It stars Zac Efron, who first found fame in High School Musical, and Christian Mackay who plays the role of Orson Welles.

Isle of Man Film is delighted the film is being included in the festival.
