Dog fouling warning

by isleofman.com 2nd September 2008
Let your dog foul the ancient capital and you’ll face an on-the-spot fine!

That’s the message from Castletown Commissioners which is clamping down on irresponsible dog owners.

Within the next month, commissioners and officers will be patrolling the town each morning and evening and anyone seen allowing their pooch to foul the streets will be fined up to ?50 with court action and possible penalties of up to ?1,000 for those who don’t pay up.

At last night’s board meeting, chairman Richard Ronan said a similar approach had been successful earlier this year and it was an issue members took seriously.
