Fines for dog fouling

Commissioners in Castletown are clamping down on dog fouling with on-the-spot fines.

Those who let their dogs foul the streets will have to pay ?50 straight away, or face a court appearance and a fine of up to ?1000.

Chairman of Castletown Commissioners Richard Ronan says it's an exceptionally common complaint, and something he and his colleagues take very seriously:
