Girls in the Isle of Man will be offered a vaccine against a virus which causes cervical cancer, but a date for the start of the vaccination programme is yet to be set.
12 and 13 year old girls in Scotland have been receiving the jab this week, and youngsters in the United Kingdom will be vaccinated throughout the autumn.
Over the course of the next three years all girls up to the age of 18 will be offered the vaccination.
The Island's Public Health Director Dr Parameshwaran Kishore says the programme will be rolled out over here as soon as the logistics and resource implications have been sorted.
The injection will offer protection from the HPV virus which is known to cause cervical cancer - the second most common cancer in women worldwide.
But Dr Kishore (pictured) says even when a girl is vaccinated, she will still need regular smear tests once she is sexually active:
