Commissioner calls for more cabs

We need more taxis!

That’s the call from a long-serving Castletown commissioner ahead of a Tynwald debate in December to consider de-regulating the Isle of Man's taxi trade.

Many drivers believe delimiting the number of cabs would destroy their livelihoods and fear their business would be poached by part-time drivers working weekends.

However, there’s certainly a need for an improved taxi service in the south, says Colin Leather:
