Chief Minister requests congestion report

by isleofman.com 4th September 2008
Chief Minister Tony Brown’s confirmed he’s asked for a report on the traffic congestion that hit the capital last Wednesday when Manx Grand Prix racing was delayed by bad weather.

Following the problems, Mr Brown has asked the Government group which oversees motorsport events to look at what had happened and how such a situation might be avoided in future.

The group’s chaired by Tourism Minister Martyn Quayle and also includes Transport Minister David Anderson, Home Affairs Minister Adrian Earnshaw and other senior officers.

Mr Brown (pictured) said members of the public who suffered serious delays trying to get home are owed an explanation as to why it happened, and what might be done to prevent it happening again.
