Martin geared up for F1 weekend

A car fanatic will set off this evening for what should be a weekend to remember, after winning a trip to to the Belgian Grand Prix.

James Turpin took the top prize in the latest Young Driver 2008 event, held at the TT Grandstand last month.

The contest was made up of three challenges which tested the driving skills of young competitors.

James (pictured) will fly to Manchester this evening and then on to Brussels for the big event.

The next event in the Young Driver 2008 calendar will be at the Conister Motor Show at the TT Grandstand this weekend, September 6 and 7.

Drivers will be invited to visit the Road Safety Unit promotions vehicle and take on the challenge of the new Hazard Perception Test.
