Cold caller warning

Police in Ramsey are warning people to be wary of cold callers asking them to buy shares.

It’s after an elderly woman was nearly conned out of a large sum of money in the town.

The suspected fraudsters might have got away with it, if a courier who was sent to pick up her cheque hadn't noticed something suspicious.

He contacted police and the transaction was stopped.
