Former Scottish international footballer Frank McAvennie has denied charges of affray and disorderly conduct on licensed premises.

The 48 year-old appeared in court today (Tuesday) and entered ‘not guilty’ pleas.

He was charged following an incident in July when he was in the Island for an exhibition football match.

He was unable to play following his arrest.

A date for his trial will be set on September the 30th.

Twenty-three year-old local man, Ian Moffitt, also denies a charge of affray following the incident and will appear in court again on November the 12th.
