Man injured on Broadway

by isleofman.com 10th September 2008
Police are appealing for witnesses to an accident in which an elderly man was seriously injured.

It happened around 9.30 yesterday evening, opposite the entrance to the Villa Marina car park on Broadway. A black Peugeot car, travelling towards the promenade, was involved in a collision with the man who was crossing the road at the time.

He is in Noble's Hospital after suffering injuries to his head and hands, described as 'serious, but not thought to be life threatening'.

The woman driver of the car was uninjured.

Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact with PC Paul Dugdale at the Roads Policing Unit, on 631212.

Motorists and pedestrians are being advised to be extra careful in the Broadway area, particularly when leaving the Villa Marina in the dark.
