Director 'encouraged' by figures

by isleofman.com 12th September 2008
Isle of Man Airport has released its August passenger figures, and they show a slight rise on last year.

Compared to August 2007, 600 more people used Ronaldsway last month, a rise of one per cent.

In total, just over 69,200 people used the airport over the month making it the second busiest this year.

But airport Director Anne Reynolds (pictured) says given the downward global trend in air travel, as well as the ongoing impact of the collapse of Euromanx, the figures are very encouraging.

She also sounded a note of caution, saying the aviation world expects a substantial slowdown over the winter and Ronaldsway is working with airlines to weather the leaner times ahead.
