Encouraging signs for Orson Welles film

by isleofman.com 16th September 2008
'Me and Orson Welles' continues to gain rave reviews.

The film, part of which was shot on location at the Gaiety Theatre in February, was premiered earlier this month at the Toronto International Film Festival.

In the movie, the Gaiety doubles as the infamous New York Mercury Theatre where Orson Welles staged a legendary performance of Julius Caesar in 1937.

It stars Zac Efron, who first found fame in High School Musical, and Christian Mackay who plays the role of Orson Welles.

Steve Christian of Isle of Man Film is delighted with the reaction so far (audio file attached):

More than 600 local residents appeared as extras in scenes shot in the Isle of Man.
